ALLOCATIONS FOR ASSET ACQUISITION PROJECTS

Thomas George, Member for Lismore, said today he was pleased with the
allocations released for the Asset Acquisition Projects.
"The Lismore Electorate has received a total $12,879,000 from the Roads &
Traffic Authority. This includes funding for major developments, maintenance and
road safety and traffic management", Mr George said.
Some projects which have received finance are the Trinity College bus
interchange ($200,000), Kyogle-Murwillumbah Road ($110,000), Lismore-Kyogle Road
($225,000) and further upgrade of the Summerland Way ($3.7 million).
Other department funding is as follows -
1. Department of Housing - $401,000
2. Department of Public Works & Services - $415,000
3. State Forests - $5.95 million
"I am also happy to see $40,000 has been allocated to begin work on the
Multi-Purpose Service Centre at Nimbin, which is due for completion in 2002", Mr
George concluded.
