LAST INAUGURAL SPEECH THIS CENTURY

Member for Lismore, Thomas George proudly delivered his inaugural speech in
State Parliament on the evening of Tuesday 29 June 1999.
This milestone, once achieved, permits newly elected members to ask Ministers
Questions With and Without Notice as well as the opportunity to make speeches on
matters of local importance.
Mr George's speech comprised of; thanks to family, friends and his hardworking
team for their support during the Campaign, touching on his family and business
background, paying testimony to former Members; Bill Rixon and Bruce Duncan
together with details of electorate matters requiring attention and commitment
from the Carr Government.
"I was pleased to fulfill this achievement and honoured to learn that providing
there are no by-elections held before the end of the year, I have made the last
inaugural speech in NSW Parliament for this century" concluded Mr George.
