2010 ENVIRONMENT TRUST GRANTS NOW OPEN
29 March 2010
Groups seeking funding for environmental projects will be pleased to hear the NSW Environment Trust Grants are now open, the Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George said today.
Mr George said the Environment Trust offers an annual grant to support green projects, which do not usually receive funding from NSW Government resources.
“In 2010, the Trust will offer eight different grant programs to the value of $5.65m,” Mr George said.
“There are many community groups within the Lismore electorate whom could benefit from obtaining this funding for projects such as reserve restoration, community gardens or school-based projects.”
Mr George said the objectives if the Environment Trust varied depending on the project.
“These grants aim to encourage and support restoration and rehabilitation projects, promote environmental education, promote waste avoidance, resource recovery and fund environmental community groups.
Six of the eight grant programs remain open for 2010, including:
- Education (Community) – closes 23 April 2010 - $500,000 available
- Education (State and Local Government) – closes 23 April 2010 - $500,000 available
- Eco Schools – closes 21 May 2010 - $150,000
- Restoration and Rehabilitation (Community) closes 28 May 2010 - $1.5m available
- Restoration and Rehabilitation (State/Local Government) closes 28 May 2010 - $1.5m available
