A WELCOMED BOOST TO ARTS: GEORGE
Over $7,000 in small grants have been awarded to community groups within the Lismore electorate under the 2010 Country Arts Support Program (CASP), the Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George said today.
Mr George said the CASP grants would provide much needed funding for small projects.
“This is great news for community groups across the electorate who are now able to deliver projects across a variety of levels and art mediums.
Successful applicants were –
- On Track Community Program Inc $2,000
- Serpentine Community Gallery $2,425
- The Unity Festival $1,000
- Ukitopia Arts Collective $1,634
Mr George said the CASP funding provided by the NSW Government offered an annual boost to arts groups however groups who were not successful in gaining the grant can still access Department of Arts funding.
“There are a variety of grants and funding avenues available under the NSW Department of Arts and Regional Arts services which are available throughout the year.
“I strongly urge artists or groups with art projects to go online to www.regionalartsnsw.com.au.
“Funding applications for the majority of 2011 projects directly funded by NSW Arts close soon and are featured on the Government’s website www.arts.nsw.gov.au.
