LISMORE ELECTORATE ENCOURAGED TO HONOUR 9/11 VICTIMS
9 September 2011
Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George today encouraged people in the electorate to sign the signature pages that will become part of the Condolence Book, as a way to pay their respect to those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
Mr George said with the tenth anniversary occurring on Sunday, the book is a way that the community can chose to pay their respect.
"Sunday is a time to remember and pay tribute to all those Australians, Americans and citizens of other nations who lost their lives or lost their loved ones on September 11, 2001.
"The pages will available to sign in my office until Friday 16 September.
"These pages will be collected and collated into a book and this will complement the book that is available to sign in Parliament House.
"The book will be presented to the United States' Consul-General by Premier Barry O'Farrell later this month.
"I encourage all citizens to sign the pages as a way of paying respect for the many lives that were lost from the events of September 11, 2001," Mr George concluded.
