SUCCESSFUL SENIORS CELEBRATE

Three local organisations are to receive grants for Seniors Week activities planned in the Lismore electorate during March, Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George said today.

“These grants are provided through Ageing, Disability & Home Care to assist with the organisation of local Seniors Week programs.

"Applications are only accepted from non-profit, volunteer organisations, local government and community groups,” Mr George said.

Successful recipients of the grants include –

• $500 - Upper Clarence Valley Senior Citizens
• $1000 - Kyogle District Care Connections Inc.
• $1000 - Lismore City Council

“With events proposed throughout the district, I offer my assistance to all senior citizens who are interested in becoming aware of the various functions being organised,” said Mr George.

Seniors Week is held during 18-25 March 2012.
