The NSW Government will deliver Lismore $28,975 for local transport infrastructure as part of a regional grants program, local State member Thomas George announced today.
The Country Passenger Transport Infrastructure Grants Scheme is administered by Transport for NSW and provides support to improve transport infrastructure for customers outside major cities.
Mr George said the grant would be used for the installation of a new community shelter on Military Road in Lismore complying with disability standards for accessible public transport, as proposed by the Lismore City Council.
“This is good news for local public transport passengers as these improvements will provide benefits for years to come,” Mr George said.
“The NSW Liberals & Nationals Government is committed to improving public transport infrastructure in the regions.
“These projects provide practical public transport improvements that local communities use every day.
“Regional NSW will continue to benefit from the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government as we renovate the state’s infrastructure after 16 years of Labor neglect.”
