Minister for the Arts, George Souris, welcomed the funding boost for regional NSW.
“The Liberals and Nationals Government, through Regional Arts NSW (RANSW) and CASP, is committed to ensuring top-quality arts services are available to residents in all areas of the State,” Mr Souris said.
“This program enables regionally based communities to explore and express their cultural identities and work together to develop artistic experiences.
“The scheme assists local cultural activities and increases opportunities for regionally based groups to access a diverse range of arts program.
“CASP generates social and economic benefits to regional communities through training, employment and promotional activities.
“It also leads to greater awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity in rural and regional NSW.”
Regional CASP assessment panels, coordinated by 14 Regional Arts Boards in NSW, assessed the applications for grants under the 2012 program.
