COMMUNITY BUILDING PARTNERSHIP APPLICATIONS OPEN
The Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George is pleased to announce that applications are open for the 2012 Community Building Partnership Program.
Mr George said grants will be open to incorporated not for profit associations and local councils. This program is a vital means of improving community facilities in the region.
The types of projects that will be funded include:
- construction of new capital works
- refurbishment, repairs and maintenance to existing capital facilities
- the purchase of capital equipment with a life expectancy of 15+ years that enables the delivery of new and enhanced community services.
“Many local groups greatly benefited from this program last time and I encourage all those eligible to get in quick and make application,” Mr George said.
“This is about helping communities move essential projects forward and improve the provision of local services.
“$200,000 funding is available to each electorate, with an additional $100,000 for those with higher levels of unemployment. This will be determined once the 2011 census figures are released later in the year", Mr George said.
“Local jobs and community participation will also flow from projects considered eligible for funding.
“I encourage community organisations and local councils to consider their eligibility for the program.
The 2012 CBP is open for applications until 30 October.
